Fromm Music Foundation Announces 2010 Commissions
The board of directors of the Fromm Music Foundation at Harvard University has announced the twelve composers selected to receive 2010 Fromm commissions. In addition to the commissioning fee of $10,000, a subsidy is available for the ensemble performing the premiere of the commissioned work. The commissioned composers are:

- David Lang (New York, NY)
- Hannah Lash (Alfred Station, NY)
- Arthur Levering (Cambridge, MA)
- Caroline Joanna Mallonee (Baltimore, MD)
- Harold Meltzer (New York, NY)
- Steven Leon Ricks (Provo, UT)
- Yevgeniy Sharlat (Austin, TX)
- Ronald Bruce Smith (Brookline, MA)
- Augusta Read Thomas (Chicago, IL)
The stated mission of the Fromm Music Foundation is “to bring contemporary concert music closer to the public.” In addition to this commissioning program, the foundation sponsors the annual Fromm Contemporary Music Series at Harvard and supports the Festival of Contemporary Music at Tanglewood.
