So, the big news item this week goes to the public art/ad world, of course, with that little performance some would rather call a terrorist threat. (Or maybe it was all just a marketing ruse? Such antics have worked out well for the Bush administration.)

Musical hoaxes are another animal altogether, however, and frankly, they’re not all that frequent for reasons we’d never even dared to consider around this office.

When it comes to really cool gadgets, however, we can give those hip, upstart, art school kids a run for it—though some of our innovations are admittedly more thought out than others. Anyone writing for bicycle band these days? I say please get Phil Kline an oratorio commission and a shipment of these large enough to match his boombox collection.

Elsewhere: Philip Glass is appreciated (care to disagree?) and Kyle Gann publically defines himself. And you, dear reader, have homework. Generate and kick in.
