Felix Reyes, a native to New York and specialist in contemporary percussion, has performed all across NYC in venues such as National Sawdust, Kaufman Music Center, Lincoln Center, and has performed across various universities in the U.S. such as Indiana University, the University of Notre Dame, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and Humboldt State University. He has also performed internationally in various countries such as Japan, Germany, Poland, and El Salvador. Graduated with his Diploma in Marimba Performance at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Sengawa, Japan, where he studied with marimba legend/virtuoso Keiko Abe, Felix is also a keyboard specialist. Over his chamber music career he has performed for and collaborated with countless acclaimed international artists and composers including members of Sō Percussion, Dai Fujikura, Jennifer Hidgon, Christos Hatzis and Katarzyna Mycka.
Most recently, since May 29th, 2020, Felix has been heavily active and involved in doing social activism with organizations and artists within the Black Lives Matter movement, and in collaboration with spoken word poet Roya Marsh and New Music USA has co-organized an virtual fundraising event to raise $10K for young, activist groups here in NYC fighting on the front lines for black lives. https://www.felixreyespercussion.com/home
