Theodore Mook

Charlestown, RI

Cellist Theodore Mook relocated to RI after almost 30 years in NYC. As a NYC free-lancer, he performed regularly with the Orchestra of St. Lukes, Musica Sacra, on Broadway, on film scores, recordings, and with countless other orchestras and ensembles. He has been (and remains) an active proponent of contemporary music, particularly microtonal music, and has performed at the Tura New Music Festival in Australia, the Library of Congress, the American Academy in Rome, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and on concert series and festivals throughout the US, Europe and Australia. Recent tours include appearances in NYC, Providence, Boston, Bremen, Oldenburg, Porto, Brussels, Baltimore, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Perth and Brisbane. He plays "modern" music on a 19th century Italian cello made by Vincenzo Postiglione, and early music with an 18th century baroque cello – with GUTS! (an ensemble with 2 baroque celli and harpsichord). Check his website or facebook page for more detailed information and a complete discography.
