Vanessa Ague is a music writer and occasional violinist. She currently runs a blog covering new experimental music called The Road to Sound, and formerly, she worked in fundraising at National Sawdust. Her writing has appeared in The Wire, Pitchfork, The Brooklyn Rail, National Sawdust Log, WNYC’s New Sounds, and WQXR. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and was a 2019 Bang on a Can Media Fellow. In her writing, she aims to both situate experimental music practices in today’s sociopolitical climate and to explore the ways in which abstract music is made.
