Theodore Presser Company has announced that Eric Ewazen (b. 1954) has been signed to its roster of composers.

Theodore Presser Company has announced that Eric Ewazen has joined its roster of composers. Initially, Presser will offer three of Ewazen’s chamber works, with additional new works, as well as many previously unpublished works, to be added to the catalog soon.

Ewazen (b. 1954) studied at the Eastman School of Music and the Juilliard School. Among his teachers were Samuel Adler, Milton Babbitt, Warren Benson, Joseph Schwantner, and Gunther Schuller. His music been commissioned and performed by many soloists, chamber ensembles, and orchestras in the U.S. and overseas. His works are recorded on numerous labels including Albany, Cala, CRS, d’Note, EMI, Helicon, Hyperion, New World, Summit, and Well-Tempered Productions. A prolific composer of solo and chamber as well as orchestral works, Ewazen has also composed extensively for wind ensemble. He has served on the faculty of the Juilliard School since 1980.

In signing with Theodore Presser, Ewazen joins a roster of composers that includes Samuel Adler, Chen Yi, George Rochberg, William Schuman, Roger Sessions, Steven Stucky, George Tsontakis, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich.
