Elizabeth Carena is a performing artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Since 2003, Elizabeth has performed and recorded vocals and keyboards in live music acts Ann Courtney & the Late Bloomers, Clair, Lindsay Sullivan and Lightbody, and Mother Feather, performing at venues including Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, Southpaw, Union Hall, Pianos, The Triad, and more. She has performed on professional recordings with engineers Steve Wall/Gardentone (Semi-Precious Weapons, Fancy Colors), Jim Bentley/The Fort (Jennifer O’Connor) and Pete Min/Fallout Shelter, on television shows Fearless Music and Live Band with Jamie Lamm, and during Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2011 presentation for Suzanne Rae at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center.
Beginning at the age of 12, she studied contemporary piano performance, music theory, and improvisation with Dale Meliken (Randy Weston, The Modern Jazz Quartet), as well as acting/voice with Joy Lenters. At Fordham University’s College at Lincoln Center, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Performance. With Third Rail Projects, Elizabeth has served as Managing Director and Affiliated Artist since 2007, performing in and collaborating as a dancer, actor, and vocalist on site-specific dance works, film, and installations in New York City and throughout New York State, the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong.
