FOCI Arts

New Orleans, LA

FOCI Arts ("facilitating original creativity inclusively") is a New Orleans-based organization devoted to the contemporary arts. Its focus is the promotion, education, and dissemination of a variety of art forms in New Orleans and throughout the United States, through concerts, gallery shows, public lectures, and educational outreaches as well as through FOCI Words, an online periodical showcasing writings by contemporary artists on their creative practices and preoccupations. FOCI emphasizes original, contemporary creative expression and seeks to present such art inclusively. FOCI Arts operates on the belief that art can be unique, original, and radical without being esoteric. FOCI Arts projects have been partnered with and supported by Coup d’Oeil Art Consortium, the Harry and Alice Eiler Foundation, the Goethe-Institut Chicago, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Newcomb College Institute of Tulane University, the Tulane University Music Department, and Southeastern Louisiana University.
