LaneCoArtsNew York, NY
After attending Purchase College Conservatory of Dance where she received a BFA and MFA, Lane Gifford founded LaneCoArts in 2006 with a mission to create physically charged dance dramas that reflect meaningful social issues and expand the language of movement through lenses of drama, visual arts, film and sound. Her multi-arts approach to dance grew from her early experiences living and working abroad as a dancer, developed with her experiments as both artist and choreographer and later evolved as she entered the film industry as a designer/producer with Sony Music. As an educator Lane works as a teacher in the NYC Public School system and as an invited guest artist in universities and colleges throughout the country.
Performances include: Jacob’s Pillow, NY Fringe Festival, Baruch PAC, Le Poisson Rouge, 92ndSt.Y, Boston Center For The Arts, Performance Project at University Settlement, ITE & Bryant Park Festivals, Dance Place, Kaatsbaan Dance Center, Triskelion Arts, McKnight Artist Commission, fellowship/University of Kansas, commission/Joffrey Ballet School and residency/SUU University and Missouri Valley College.
